sallochy
Looking towards the Arrochar Alps, Sallochy’s pebbly beach lies at the beginning of the trail into the western edge of the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, an exploration of the majestic woodlands that adorn the banks of the loch here, leading up to the craggy viewpoint of Dun Maoi.
The oak woodlands here are over 200 years old, the oak is coppiced for timber used in construction and also to generate charcoal. The Sallochy campsite offers stunning views, cheap parking and a large picnic area.
